Painting With Wool
Description: In this workshop you’ll learn how to create 2D artwork using wool and a felting needle, building up a scene layer by layer, blending colors and adding details just like a painting, but entirely in wool. You will learn to build a background; create shapes, florals, and fine details with your needle; shade and add depth using wool; color and composition basics for fiber art; and how to translate drawings and ideas into wool. Open to both beginners and those who already have some felting experience. If you’ve felted before, this is a great chance to push your skills further and explore the more painterly, illustrative side of the craft. It’s a slow, meditative process that’s as enjoyable to make as it is to look at when it’s done. You’ll leave with a finished wool illustrated piece, handmade, full of color, and personal.
Materials Included:Wool in a range of vibrant colors, felting needles, foam pad, and a felt sheet that will serve as your canvas. Just show up ready to make something beautiful.
