Description: This class is for young students who want to continue developing knowledge of how to use a sewing machine. and some of the tools associated with basic sewing skills. We review what most machines can do, such as stitch variations, stitch length and width, zig zag capabilities and decorative stitches. Students may learn techniques such as top-stitching, double-fold hem, tucks, and stitch-in-the-ditch.

Parent Requirements: Upstairs – drop off & sign in all students; pick up and sign out all students; Parents are free to stay for the class to assist your child; parents will be called to pick up their child immediately if there is an attitude or discipline issue.

Materials Included: Sewing machines, fabrics and all necessary tools and materials

PLEASE NOTE: There is NO PARKING in the back lot for daytime classes due to staff needs. Please park on the street.

Instructor: Jessica Vazquez

Jessica Vazquez is a Los Angeles–based fashion designer, tailor, and educator. Her work spans custom garment construction, on-set tailoring, and fashion education, with experience supporting both emerging designers and high-profile clients. She has formal training in fashion design and construction through Fashion Careers International and Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC), with additional coursework from FIDM. With a strong foundation in pattern-making, draping, and alterations, Jessica approaches design with a balance of technical precision and creativity. She is especially passionate about sustainability and often incorporates up-cycling into her work, transforming existing garments into new, intentional designs. Alongside her industry work, Jessica teaches sewing and design, encouraging creativity, confidence, and hands-on learning while helping students bring their ideas to life.

Because we need time to fill vacant spots, there are no refunds with less than 48 hours notice.
