Description: This gentle class introduces students to the basics of hand quilting as both a technical and meditative practice. We’ll explore the beautiful, slow, and meditative practice of hand quilting, which invites us to slow down, notice our stitches, and fall into a repetitive rhythm that can feel grounding and calming. Topics include tools, hooping, thread selection, and stitch rhythm, all grounded in slowing down and connecting with the process.

Materials Included: Fabrics and all necessary tools and materials

Note: LATE ARRIVALS NOT ADMITTED ONCE CLASS HAS BEGUN

Instructor: Shaadee Mae Ighanian

Shaadee Mae Ighanian is a textile artist with a background in apparel design and natural dyeing. She loves sharing the magic of turning old textiles into something beautiful and meaningful while also helping students explore their creativity using reclaimed fabrics and sustainable practices. Her classes emphasize not only the technical skills of quilting and design but also the cultural and personal narratives stitched into every piece. Through her work, she inspires others to see the beauty in reuse, the value in handcraft, and the power of quilts to connect us across generations.
