How to Alter a Pattern
Description: In this pattern class, we will explore the foundations of pattern alterations so that you can feel more confident making clothes that fit the way you like! At the beginning of class, you’ll be asked to choose a few options of patterns that you would be interested in altering. We’ll cover how to take body measurements, compare them to the commercial pattern, then dive into techniques such as lengthening and shortening, adding ease, and more. We will then practice these adjustments on pattern pieces so you get hands-on experience with these flat-pattern methods.
Note: Taking your body measurements is optional. If you would like to take your measurements in class, please wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing like tank tops, tight t-shirts and leggings. We are an inclusive, safe space committed to treating our students with respect and kindness. ‘
Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.
