Family Art – Louise Bourgeois Towers

Note: Children under 8 must attend with an adult, which would be one signup.

Family Art Project: Inspired by the towering sculptures of artist Louise Bourgeois, participants will work together to design and build their own imaginative sculptural towers using recycled and repurposed materials. You will explore concepts of balance, structure, texture, and storytelling while learning how Bourgeois used sculpture to express memory, emotion, and personal experience. This collaborative class encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork while introducing participants to the work of one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th century.

Materials Included: All necessary tools and materials.

Instructor: Sarena Vasquez

Sarena (she/they) is an artist, yogi, and self-compassion enthusiast! She has a BFA in animation and feels a profound sense of purpose through community-centered initiatives. Her favorite way to explore creativity is through “play” where she tries to create without judgment, expectation, or rigidity. Sarena’s desire is to express herself with love & authenticity and to help others do the same – especially for the Queer and Neurodivergent community, through the wonderful world of art.

Location:

All classes take place UPSTAIRS in our CREATIVE SPACE unless otherwise noted. Use the exterior stairs on the side of the building to enter.
